Getting a mortgage as contractor does not have to be complicated but it does make it easier if you follow these simple tips.
Have your deposit in order it makes it better if you can prove that you have saved at least a portion of your deposit by yourself. If you are taking this from family gift or proceeds of a sale this is not an issue we will just need to see supporting documentation for money laundering purposes. For residential mortgage it can be as low as 5% of the property asking price we will guide you through how a larger deposit could help but it is not vital.
Credit score make sure it is in order. Are all your debts in order try to eliminate any surprises by checking your credit report out beforehand so that there is no shocks when we are processing your mortgage? Bank account can you prove your earnings and your outgoings try and keep it relatively clean for three months no bounced payments or excessive spending leading up to your purchase your lender will want to ensure you can comfortably afford your new mortgage.
